I had the privilege of being asked to head the makeup team for the Tim Burton Exhibition opening event in October. I love the creativity behind all the movies, so this was such an honour and an amazing experience for me.
Tim Burton was there to open the event with a speech. He was followed by a dance troupe whose choreography moved along to Danny Elfman’s compositions.
The makeup for the dancers was typical of Burton-esque gothic style with smokey eyes, dark lips and pale faces. This was to emulate that of his many characters such as Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice.
My team also helped to facepaint 40 staff with my designs. These were based on typical Tim Burton makeup, with monochromatic patterns and purple/green hues.
